Past

Siyani's mother was a human slave to a demon lord named Alistair who was renowned for his insanity. Considering the horrific things Alistair inflicted upon Siyani's mother many would be surprised to discover that she didn't hate him. She understood his behavior was the result of his insanity--an insanity brought on by his uncle. This uncle was an Archangel of heaven nothing like what people tended to believe angels to be like. He was an extremely possessive being who liked to have complete control over anything that he claimed. Both Siyani's mother and Alistair had been claimed by this angel. and it was this angel not Alistair who was Siyani's father. Siyani never knew his mother. She had been killed by Alistair when he was just a baby, but even if she hadn't died when he was so young it was highly unlikely that he would have met her. His father had taken him to heaven right after he had been born and no matter how much his mother pleaded, he refused to allow her to see Siyani.

Growing up, Siyani experienced his father's possessive nature firsthand, but it wasn't until he was older that he fully understood it. Some said that Siyan's father displayed high level of possessiveness over Siyani due to the fact that his mother was a woman whom, even for him, he extremely possessive over. Other claimed it was the mere fact that Siyani was his son, and the identity of his mother didn't matter within the scenario. Whatever the case, those few that had been allowed to see Siyani couldn't help commenting how much father and son adore each other. There was no doubt within their mind that Siyani was the center of his father's world and that Siyani understood this very well. Siyani's father, however, insured that only a select few had contact with his son by keeping Siyani locked away within his estate where he had absolute control over who came and went. Siyani was a curious child and would often ask his father what laid beyond the estate. HIs father would humor him by sharing stories of the happening outside the estate, but eventually Siyani decided he wished to see what laid beyond with his own eyes. More than that he thought of all the friends that were just waiting out there for him to meet.

He expressed this desire to his father who screamed Why would anyone want to befriend a monster? at him then before the weight of his father's words could sink in, he quickly pulled Siyani into his embrace, apologizing for his outburst and went on to explain that those outside the estate would not be so understanding or accepting of Siyani's half-breed status. They will look down upon him because of it, regard him as an abomination and the very idea of anyone hurting him in anyway filled him with immensurable amount of rage. He pleaded with Siyani to push thoughts of leaving the safety of the estate from his mind. Siyani agreed, but eventually curiosity got the best of him and once again he came to his father about his desire about what lay beyond the estate. This time his father agreed to allow him to have an outing to see what laid beyond the estate with his own two eyes.

Siyani quickly discovered that his father had been right. Those outside the estate hated him simply because he was not full angel. One even attempted to kill Siyani but his father was quick to come to his rescue, disposing of his attacker and bringing Siyani back to the safety of the estate. Little did Siyani know that entire thing had been arranged by his father to quell any further desire to see what was beyond the estate, but the plan didn't end with the horrors Siyani experienced outside the safety of his father's estate but in his father's response to what happened. Siyani's father's anger was palpable, but he did not unleash it until they were well within the estate walls. For a few moments, Siyani could only stare as his father ranted and raved then he broke down crying, apologizing to his father over and over again. His father's anger quickly subsided, and Siyani found himself being pulled into his father's arm. His father apologized for his outburst and told Siyani that he wasn't angry at him, but those who had tried to hurt him and those who hated him simply because of his half-breed status. He understood that Siyani had to see the truth for himself, and he was angry that he couldn't change this truth. He inquired if Siyani had any more desire to see what lay beyond the estate and Siyani was quick to tell him no.

However, once again curiosity got the better of him. Siyani couldn't help thinking that there must be others who would be as accepting of his existence as his father was. He just knew he couldn't bring this desire to his father. It wasn't because he suspected that his father had something to do with the horrors Siyani encountered during his last outing, but because of these horrors that is father would understandably be reluctant to agree to let Siyani go on another. He thought that if he went out and found one person who didn't regard him as a monster simply because of his half-breed status that his father might agree to more outings. He knew that he shouldn't be defenseless when he went out--especially since he was sneaking out without his father's knowledge. If he found himself in a jam his father likely wouldn't arrive in time to save him. He taught himself how to fight and use his angelic powers by reading and watching his father train. It didn't take him long for him to believe that he was sufficiently trained enough to stand against any attacker.

He began to explore heaven and he found his experience nothing like the one he had before. His half-breed status mostly seemed unnoticeable by those he encountered and those that did notice found him more a curiosity than an abomination. Believing that his father would be overjoyed that he found a potential friend, Siyani decided to bring one of those he met on his recent outing home. Immediately. his father drove them away. He told Siyani after it was said and done that; he was doing him a favor. Time would reveal this so-called new friend of his to be just as hateful as those who had tried to kill Siyani during his first outing, and the betrayal of this discovery would hurt him worse than if this friend had been upfront about his true feeling towards Siyani. He pleaded with Siyani to give up any further desire to explore the world outside the estate, but Siyani refused. He was determined to show his father that there was other out there who would accept him just as his father had.

After bringing home several others, Siyani began to see the role his father played in his isolation. He decided that he needed to establish a strong friendship with them before bringing them home that way his father had less of chance of driving them away, but his father always seemed to figure out whom Siyani had grown attached to and found a way to ensure they never saw Siyani again. Eventually, Siyani decided to take the form of a cat, believing that this would keep his father from noticing him when he was out and about, but he feared that he was mistaken with his assumption that his father would discover and drive away any friendship he might form even in cat from. The fact that he encountered his father several times while in cat form and his father never revealed he realized it was Siyani did nothing to alleviate these fears. He had a serious of what he dubbed one-night stands, where he enjoyed the company of anyone he met while exploring the streets of heaven and if they encountered each other again then so be it. That was until he met her--Fallyn princess of heaven and leader of the Zodiac angels.

They talked for a while until she asked him what sort of angel he was. Within heaven, every angel had a title--a job assigned to them by God. Seeing how Siyani never met God nor had he been anywhere where a title had been bestowed upon him if God had given that task to someone else. He didn't know which such a thing would be done. He expressed this to Fallyn, who he thought would be outraged to learn this, but instead she merely laughed and brought him to her father so Siyani could learn what his status within heaven would be. Without hesitation, God revealed he was a malakim. This revelation filled Siyani with dread. He did not wish to be a malakim. His father had taught him about the heirachy of heaven and told him there were only two positions within heaven worthy anything. Well, aside from the Zodiac, but members of the zodiacs did not update frequently. In fact, the zodiacs remained the same unless a member died. The two positions that Siyani's father held in high esteem was Malakim and arch angel. He had every member of those position memorized and kept himself updated on any new recruits.

Upon seeing Siyani's distress, God told him that he was only joking and that Siyani was a guardian angel. Relief immediately washed over him as his father had the lowest regard for guardian angels and as such, he paid no attention to the names of their members. He and Fallyn developed a friendship and eventually became lovers until Siyani broke the cardinal rules of a guardian angel.

Present

Guardian angels are tasked with watching over humans and protecting them against supernatural forced. However, they are never to intervene with free will. If one of their charges own actions and choices lead them to be harmed by the supernatural a guardian angel can do nothing to change this. They are, also, under no circumstance allowed to kill humans. He followed these rules for a while, watching over charges for centuries until he was tasked with looking over her. She had been born into a terrible life and had taken up prostitution at a young age. It was a life that made her extremely cynical, but if one took the time to look, they would see the beautiful compassionate soul that laid beneath. It was this soul that Siyani feels in love with. He wanted nothing more than to show himself to her and sweep her away from the horrors that was her life, but he knew that was forbidden. Then one day she had a client who decided that he wanted to kill her while they had sex. The idea of her life being snuffed out like that---especially by a man who had killed countless others in the same fashion caused Siyani to break the number one rule of being a guardian angel. He killed the human, and, in the process, he revealed himself to his charge.

She stared at scene before her for a few moments before screaming that Siyani was a monster. He tried to comfort her, tried to calm her down, but his charge was hearing none of it. Every step he took towards her she took one back until she ended up falling out of the open window behind her to her death on the ground below. Immediately, Siyani realized what he had done. He had broken the rules of heaven and as punishment he would be cast from heaven. Knowing this was going to be his fate, Siyani didn't return to heaven instead he remained upon earth. He wandered the earth alone, taking his cat form from time to time until he heard her pleas. She was one of the seven virtues and had been tied up and tossed into the river to die because she was thought to be evil. He rescued her from that gruesome fate and knowing that given her importance that she would need a guardian decided to take up the mantle himself. His new charge made no protest towards him assigning himself as her protector and the two have been together ever since. She has the annoying habit of calling him Mr. Friendly, but when everything is said and done, he doesn't really mind the nickname. That is the price of friendship after all.
